Presenters

Senior clinicians from both the Adult Burns Service, Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) and the Paediatric Burns Service, Children, Youth and Women’s Health Service (CYWHS) will present this comprehensive program.

Disciplines represented include nursing, psychology, social work, dietetics, occupational therapy and physiotherapy.

Aim

This one day burns seminar is designed to provide health professionals with an opportunity to expand individual

knowledge within the field of burn injury management.

on current clinical practices, based on what they learn.

Who should attend?

This seminar will be of value to nurses and allied health staff working with those who are affected by a burn

injury both in the acute and community setting.

Areas covered include:

first aid

emergency management

paediatric burn management

burn size and depth assessment

chemical and electrical burns

psychosocial management

burns rehabilitation and scar management.

Breakout sessions will enable attendees to focus on:

wound care

peri-operative care

psychological care

physical therapy.
